Taliban urge U.S. to be 'rational'
about bin Laden
Taliban denies U.S accusations,
that the country is allowing suspected terrorist Osama bin Laden
to stay in Afghanistan and to organize terrorist attacks. They
U.S. later released a written statement telling Taliban that
it would the ruling orthodox militia responsible for any attacks
against any United States interests. The warning was in response
to the arrest of 14 alleged followers of bin Laden who were suspected
of planning attacks on America during millennium celebrations.

Taliban vow to protect bin
Laden.
The rulers of Afghanistan's
Taliban vowed to protect the known terrorist Osama bin Laden
after several of his alleged members of his group were arrested
in Jordan. They were detained for planning attacks against U.S.
interest during millennium celebrations. The people of Afghan
have stated that they do not plan to hand over bin Laden to a
court system run by Jewish and Christian people.

U.N. blasts Afghan attacks,
again demands bin Laden.
The United Nations Security
Council condemned the attacks against U.N. offices in Afghanistan
and demanded the Afghanistan hand over Osama bin Laden, so he
can be tried for the attacks. The U.N. also ordered sanctions
against Afghanistan for not handing over the terrorist.

on bin Laden.
The United States dismisses
Taliban's assurances that the Saudi-born Islamist Osama bin Laden
is no threat to the U.S. or its interest over the world. The
State Department rejected their promises, saying that bin Laden
is being protected by Taliban.

Bin Laden group added to U.S.
official terrorism list
On Friday, October 9,
1999 the U.S. State Department issued a new list of international
terrorist. Included in this was the group Al-Qaida, a group established
by Osama bin Laden ten years ago. The U.S. issued this the list
in hopes of slowing down the terrorist group; bring worldwide
attention to the terrorist organization.

U.S. slaps sanctions on Afghanistan's
Taliban movement.
The U.S. accusing Afghanistan's
Taliban government to be harboring the alleged terrorist Osama
bin Laden has enforced economic sanctions on the Taliban movement.
All of Taliban's assets in the United States have been frozen
and trade and transactions between U.S. citizens and the strict
Islamic militia have been forbidden. In response to the economic
sanctions Taliban says that bin Laden has disappeared

U.S. to Taliban: We will hold
you responsible for any attacks linked to bin Laden.
The United States has
issued a warning to the Taliban authorities, stating that the
U.S. will hold them responsible for any terrorist attacks against
America that is linked to the terrorist Osama bin Laden. The
Taliban government is protecting the bin Laden and refuses to
send him to the United States or a third party country to be
tried for the bombing of two U.S. embassies in Africa. Osama
bin Laden's followers have been plotting attacks against the
U.S. and the U.S. has taken these threats seriously, warning
generals to protect their troops from possible terrorist attacks.
