Abstract
My project for computational science deals with the comparison between child
birth on a full moon night and child birth in an average month. I was trying to prove or to
disprove the common belief that more children are born on full moon nights. By collecting
numbers of births in 1995 from local hospitals and plugging them into my spreadsheet
using the correlation coefficient, I was able to see that the birth rates on full moon nights
were very inconsistent. From this, I can draw the conclusion that the common belief that
more children are born on full moon nights is not true.
