the world produces pleasure
and we are drunk with the perfumed lies
of rock stars and omnipotent gods
that we faithfully worship
before and after we mindlessly sin
by practicing our freedom of speech
when we're not even speaking our minds
which are merely processing the same energy
that flows through everything under the sun
that shines down on us as we kill each other
in the name of peace on earth
that we're steadily destroying
but claim to care about
like all those people we care about
but to whom we lie anyway
because it's in our best interest
to stay on the good side
of the only world that we know
