A Successful 2019 National French Exams for ASMS Students

The French National Exams went very well for the ASMS foreign language students this year. ASMS had 2 platinum winners, who scored perfectly and are number one in the nation! ASMS also has 3 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze winners, altogether 11 national laureates this year.

Level 1 was taught by Mme Hoequist and Level 2, started by Mme Hoequist, taught by Mme Rindle.

At Level 1, Michael Jones, ASMS senior, ranked 1st in Alabama, he also ranked 1st nationally and -since he made simply no mistakes- is a platinum winner! Will Howton, ASMS junior, placed 2nd in Alabama sharing the 95th percentile nationally, with both earning a platinum medal & plaque, and a gold medal. Nicole Ladner, ASMS sophomore, placed 6th in Alabama at the 85th percentile nationally, winning silver. Alaina Kelly, ASMS junior, placed 9th and Spencer Kongchan, ASMS sophomore, placed 11th, both earning bronze medals. All five are “National Laureates” at the upper 25 percentile nationally.

At Level 2, Beata Casiday, ASMS senior, ranked 1st in Alabama, she also ranked 1st nationally and -since she made simply no mistakes- is a platinum winner! Emma Last, ASMS sophomore, placed 2nd in Alabama, and Emily Glover, ASMS junior, placed 3rd in Alabama. All three place at or above the 95th percentile nationally, winning a platinum medal & plaque, and two gold medals. Emma Joly, ASMS sophomore, placed 5th in Alabama at the 90th percentile nationally, earning a silver medal. Gabby Lohning, ASMS junior, placed 8th in Alabama at the 80th percentile nationally, and Abby Quimby placed 10th in Alabama, both earning bronze medals. All six are “National Laureates” at the upper 25 percentile nationally.
