This week, the ASMS Theatre Production Class will be performing Christopher Sergel’s Cheaper By the Dozen. Directed by ASMS Performing Arts Instructor, Martha Mozer, this exhilarating production has ASMS buzzing in excitement.

“Cheaper by the Dozen is such a fascinating look into one of the brightest minds in America,” says Megan Matthews who plays Anne. “Frank Gilbreth’s unique family life, told by two of his dozen children, is brought to life by our cast. You will experience many themes such as the struggles of parenthood, growing up, and mortality. This is a play that has an amazing ability to foreshadow and create an outstanding performance for the audience to enjoy. We have thoroughly enjoyed putting this together, and we hope that you’ll feel the same!”

The ASMS Theatre Production class, with Instructor and Director Martha Mozer’s help, has been working non stop to prepare for this production.

“The ASMS Theatre Production class just finished a three day rehearsal marathon  for their production of Cheaper by the Dozen which opens this Thursday, Jan. 24th,” says Mozer. “The students began work on the show at the start of the Winter term, completing all the stage blocking and set construction before the Winter Break. Since it is impossible to rehearse a full show in one class period, students taking the class committed to 3, six to eight hour days of intense rehearsing over the MLK weekend.”

The play will be performed Thursday, January 24 & Friday January 25, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. on the West Campus Stage. Parking on the Main Campus and West campus will be available and Admission is free!
