The First Annual DragonHack middle school hackathon will be held March 17, 2018 at the Alabama School of Math and Science (ASMS) in Mobile, Ala. ASMS will introduce middle school students to a wide variety of computer science skills.
During this event, middle school students (6-8 grades) will be given a specific topic/issue within the community and address it by creating a mobile app, which will be presented to a panel of judges for prizes. Business professionals from the technology industry will serve as facilitators for the teams. Students will learn to build their own apps. No prior coding experience is needed.
Registration and lunch are FREE for all students. Space is limited.
We encourage students to bring your own laptop. ASMS has a limited amount of computers available for participants. If more students bring laptops, more students can attend. Click here for official flyer.
