Student Affairs

Weekend Activities and Reminders:

  • Friday, Sept. 7
    • 5:00 PM – Walmart Run
    • 7:00 PM – Spanish Club Movie in TV Room – Ferdinand
    • Runs to Movies, Restaurants – Signup lists to be posted at the front desk
  • Saturday, Sept. 8
    • 7:15 AM – Meet in Lobby for ACT transportation – Breakfast bags will be provided – please have your ID, calculator, and two pencils

College Counseling

  • Monday, September 10 – The University of Alabama has rescheduled their reception for interested students. It will be at the battle house at 7:00 PM. If students need a ride they need to see Mrs. Boatman in Student Affairs.
  • Monday, September 10 – There will be a representative from Tulane University on campus at 10:00 AM. Signup to attend the visit in Student Affairs.
  • Monday, September 10 –  “Academy Night” at St. Paul’s: Students interested in attending a service academy will have the opportunity to hear from all the academies and learn about the process. Please see Mrs. Boatman if you need a ride. The program begins at 7:00 PM.

SGA

Club Fair will be held in the gym on Wednesday, September 12.

Athletics

There will be an archery interest meeting on Monday, September 10 at 5:45 PM in the gym. If you have any questions please email Coach Howard at choward@asms.net.

Technology Student Association

TSA will have an interest meeting this Sunday, September 9 at 8:00 PM in the boardroom.

Key Club

Key Club will host a meeting this Wednesday, September 12. Time and location TBA. This is for members and students still interested in joining.

National Security Language Initiative for Youth

Applications for the National Security Language Initiative for Youth have opened on nsliforyouth.org. NSLI-Y is a merit based scholarship from the U.S. Department of State to cover all costs associated with studying a critical language for a summer or year abroad. No prior experience is needed in the language. Programs are currently available for the following languages: Russian, Arabic, Persian/Tajiki, Turkish, Hindi, Chinese, Korean, and Bahasa Indonesian. Student Portrait Orders

Fall photo orders are due 9/26. Please turn in to Mrs. Dorsey at front desk. Senior Portrait proofs will be handed out 9/19 at lunch in the cafeteria. Due date for senior portraits are 10/2.

Juniors

Junior class elections will be SOON. Time and date to be announced on Campus Life ASAP. If you are interested in running for class president, vice-president, treasurer, or secretary, contact Coach Brouillet or Ms. Rellinger, so they can put your name on the ballot. Speeches can be up to two minutes in length.

Seniors

Reminder: Senior trip payment and permission form are due by September 26. The Payment and Permission Form is on the ASMS Parent Dashboard.
