ASMS Family Day

ASMS Family Day will be held Saturday, October 12 and include several events for current students, parents, faculty, and staff to come together as one united family. Spirit Week and Goofy Olympics will lead up to Family Day activities.

ASMS Family Day serves community needs in a casual and inclusive environment in which current families will get face time with hall staff, instructors, and administrators. Additionally, the Parent Association will host Fundraising Events, including the Student Talent Show and Silent Auction 6:00-9:00 p.m. the night of Family Day.

Prior to Family Day, students will be celebrating ASMS Spirit Week and hall competitions will be held at one of the school’s most famed events, Goofy Olympics.

Spirit Week

  • Follow your student's Monday class schedule. Families will receive a copy at registration.

  • If you would like to meet individually with a faculty member, there will be sign up sheets in the classrooms during the meet and greet with slots for meetings to be held later in the afternoon.

11:45-1:15 PM – Family Day Lunch and Faculty/Counselor One on One Group Rotations

  • Families will be assigned to a "group color" (BLUE or GREEN) at registration.
    • Please note, splitting everyone into two groups during this time will help offer a variety of faculty and counselor sessions and there will be shorter lines at lunch.
  • The Parent Association will also have the Spirit Store setup in the Coffee House during this time.
    • Wave One - 11:45-12:30 PM
          • Family Day Lunch - BLUE group (Courtyard)
          • Faculty / Counselor One on Ones - GREEN group
            • If you set up individual meetings with faculty members or counselors, you may attend those during this time.
              • Faculty will be located in the same classrooms from the morning.
              • Counselors will be located in their offices (second floor of the administration building).
    • Wave Two - 12:30-1:15 PM
          • Family Day Lunch - GREEN group (Courtyard)
          • Faculty / Counselor One on Ones - BLUE group
            • If you set up individual meetings with faculty members or counselors, you may attend those during this time.
              • Faculty will be located in the same classrooms from the morning.
              • Counselors will be located in their offices (second floor of the administration building).

Family Day Meal Tickets

Family Day meal ticket registration is now closed. On-site payment for lunch tickets will NOT be available at Family Day for cafeteria planning purposes.

ASMS Parent Association Talent Show and Silent Auction Fundraiser

Saturday, October 12 6:00-9:00 PM – Talent Show (Auditorium) and Silent Auction Fundraiser (Cafeteria/Boardroom)

  • 6:00 p.m. - Doors open for Silent Auction viewing. Individuals attending the event will enter main entrance at the Bedsole Building. Cost is $5.00 per person.
  • 6:00-7:00 p.m. - Individuals will be able to enjoy desserts and bid on the silent auction items. Desserts and many silent auction items will be in the cafeteria. High value items will be available in the Boardroom.
  • 6:45 p.m. - Auditorium doors will open for the Student Talent Show.
  • 7:00 p.m. - Talent Show begins in auditorium and bidding continues for the auction.
  • 7:45 p.m. - Talent Show intermission for any last bidding.
  • 8:00 p.m. - Silent Auction bidding closes.
  • 8:05 p.m. - Talent Show resumes.
  • 8:30 p.m. - Auction winners announced at Talent Show

Silent Auction items will be on display in the ASMS board room from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM during Family Day for those who would like to view items in advance of the auction.

Students, parents, guardians, family members, staff, faculty, current board members, past board members, and government representatives are invited to attend.

Student Talent Show Performers Needed

  • Auditions are now closed.
  • Students selected to perform will be notified by October 1st and will be required to attend a rehearsal the weekend of October 4th-6th (days and times TBD).
  • A final run-through of show will be Wednesday, October 9th or Thursday, October 10th (exact day and time TBD).

Silent Auction Items Needed

  • Faculty, staff, and parents interested in donating items for the silent auction, please click here to register your item.
  • Please bring donated items, art, or handmade items for the Silent Auction Fundraiser Event to the Development Office (third floor Admin) by 12pm noon Friday, October 11.
  • The PA also asks that you please take a picture and send by email to asmsparents@gmail.com or text to (205) 495-3197 for your item.

Parent Association Silent Auction Sponsorship

  • The Parent Association is seeking sponsorships for the Silent Auction.
  • Sponsorships are $200 and the logo for each of our sponsors will appear on a photo booth frame for everyone attending the event to use and share on social media to recognize and thank sponsors for their support.
  • If you plan to make a sponsorship, please complete the Sponsorship and Donation for the Silent Auction form here.

ASMS T-Shirt Design Contest

  • The Parent Association invites everyone to create and design the next artwork to be used for the PA's merchandise store.
  • All current ASMS students, parents, guardians, immediate family, staff, and faculty are eligible to participate.
  • Winners will be announced at the Talent Show & Silent Auction fundraiser event on Saturday, October 12.
  • The t-shirt design contest is now closed.

Parent Association Raffle

  • From now until October 12, parents are invited to purchase and/or sell raffle entries to friends and family, neighbors, and coworkers, or purchase for you.
  • Entries are just $20 each for a chance to win the grand prize of a 4-day/3-night stay at the East Point Cottages in Gulf Shores with $25 restaurant gift cards to the following establishments: The Gulf, The Hangout, Picnic Beach, and Sunlight Diner! The grand prize is provided compliments of Lucky Bird Vacations and must be used between Oct. 13, 2019 and May 1, 2020. Blackout dates do apply.
  • The drawing will be held on Saturday, October 12, and the winner will be announced and notified at the PA Talent Show & Silent Auction Fundraiser event that evening.

Parent Association Merchandise

  • The ASMS Parent Association will be selling t-shirts, other ASMS merchandise, and raffle tickets on ASMS Family Day in the Coffee House from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Payments for merchandise can be made with cash, checks, PayPal and credit cards.
