Biography: Dr. Studdard grew up in rural northwest Alabama. Over the last 25 years, she has held a variety of academic and administrative positions in institutions of higher education and non-profit organizations. Dr. Studdard is passionate about the power of education and the impact it has for students, their families, and their communities. She is particularly passionate about the opportunities that ASMS makes available to our students. She knows this on a personal level as her daughter is a 2019 Alumnus of ASMS. In fact, Dr. Studdard applied for the position at ASMS upon her daughter’s urging. She has three children.

Accomplishments: Dr. Studdard has published articles in The Adult Education Quarterly and The Journal of Continuing Higher Education. While at the United Methodist Children’s Home, Dr. Studdard led initiatives that doubled the number of participants in the scholarship program, tripled donations to the local program, and implemented a staffing model that enhanced program success while decreasing expenditures. She has previously served as the president of the National Tutoring Association and on various community and educational advisory boards. At ASMS, Dr. Studdard serves as the Title IX coordinator, has reviewed HR policies, has worked to revise the Student Community Handbook, and is working to make similar revisions to the Employee Handbook. Dr. Studdard, who holds Level 1 high power certification through the National Association of Rocketry, also coaches and mentors the ASMS Rocketry team.
