Faculty
The caliber of ASMS faculty members is unmatched by other high schools in the state of Alabama. All of our faculty members hold advanced degrees, and more than 40% of ASMS instructors hold terminal degrees. ASMS faculty members are experts in their field, staying active in research, publishing their work, and attending conferences to follow current trends. They love their subject matter, and because most have taught at the college level, they are prepared to elevate their courses to the level of university instruction.
Beyond these credentials, our faculty are distinguished by their concern for every student’s well-being and academic engagement. They are an accomplished group of educators who put student learning first, and they are committed to student success. It is not unusual for instructors to stay after class to mentor and tutor students who may need a little help. Faculty members often report that ASMS students respond on an academic level higher than even that of most college students, which is extremely motivating and creates for dynamic engagement in the classroom.
