Biography: Dr. Cathryne Smith is the Interdisciplinary STEM Instructor at the Alabama School of Math and Science (ASMS), where she teaches forensic science, biology electives, and mathematics. She also serves as an Instructor of Forensic Science and the Forensic Science Program Development Lead at the University of South Alabama. Dr. Smith collaborates with law enforcement agencies throughout the Mobile area by providing forensic consultation, expert witness testimony, skeletal identification, and decomposition analysis. She serves on the Advisory Council for the Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice and is a member of Forensic Times’ Women in Forensic Science. She is passionate about connecting students with authentic, research-driven STEM experiences that prepare them for success in higher education and scientific careers.
