ASMS Student Participates in College-level German Classes at Georgetown University

Because of ASMS students’ excellent results on the National German Exam every year, Georgetown University reached out to World Languages instructor, Ms. Hoequist, to invite her students to sit in on college-level classes. ASMS senior Tabitha Watson from Jefferson County was recently able to participate in two 400 level German classes at Georgetown.

Many ASMS students are part of a growing movement of climate activist youth. This year, the SGA is implementing a Sustainable Caf Initiative, and there are opportunities for students to gain service hours for simply using a reusable plate when going through the lines for breakfast, lunch, or dinner on campus.

Seven ASMS seniors have been named National Merit Finalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). National Merit Finalists are made up of less than 1% of high school seniors for their performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).
