Biography: Alison Rellinger was born in southern California and also lived in Wyoming, Ohio and Maryland while growing up. She attended St. Mary's College of Maryland on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay to pursue a degree in Biology. A professor encouraged her to apply to graduate school at University of South Alabama/Dauphin Island Sea Lab which brought her to the Gulf Coast for the first time. She quickly grew to love the region and call it home. Ms. Rellinger strives to share the many wonders of planet earth and it’s amazing inhabitants in her biology and environmental science courses at ASMS. Alabama has incredible biodiversity making this an ideal place to explore biology. She believes in showing students how classroom learning connects to their everyday life, as well as highlighting the interdisciplinary nature of all sciences. Ms. Rellinger lives with her husband, son and numerous pet turtles and dogs.
