Scientific Publication Acknowledges Contributions of ASMS Students and Faculty
Paleontologist, Jun Ebersole, recently had a research paper published in the journal Paleoichthys that includes all the fossils collected by ASMS students and faculty during a 2023 trip to Dauphin Island. The paper acknowledges by name the ASMS students and faculty who collected the fossils.
ASMS President's List and Dean’s List Students Named for Fall 2023 Term
Students on the President's List for fall 2023 earned a Fall Term academic GPA of 4.0. Students on the Dean's List for fall 2023 earned a Fall Term academic GPA of 3.99-3.7. Congratulations to these students!
ASMS Faculty Member Dr. Elisa Rambo Named Innovative STEM Teacher of the Year
ASMS Chemistry Department faculty member, Dr. Elisa Rambo, was honored with the Innovative STEM Teacher of the Year Award by the National Consortium of Secondary STEM Schools in November of 2023. She has been a faculty member at ASMS for 19 years, and she teaches high-level classes.
Alabama Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth Allocates Funding to ASMS from the Alabama K-12 Capital Grant Program
ASMS would like to thank Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth for allocating $1.3 million to our school from the Alabama K-12 Capital Grant Program. The funding will be used to begin renovations to the ASMS residence halls along with funds raised on Giving Tuesday this year. It is a transformational allocation for the school.

ASMS Junior Named Big and Little of the Year with Big Brothers Big Sisters Program
ASMS junior, Marcus McPherson, and Mr. Benjamin Ford were honored with the Big and Little of the Year award. The award is given by the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Gulf Coast as part of a national program which originally started in 1904.
